Deformed Toe

Hi,
My name is Jacinda and I am 22 years old.
On my right foot, my toe before my pinky is small.
It seems like it didn’t grow.
It is so embarrassing to me.
My left foot is just fine, but my right is horrible to me.
I have been hiding it for so long, and it’s so hard to look at it sometimes.
What do you suggest?
Have you ever seen anything like what I am describing?
I want to have surgery, so could you tell me the procedures in doing so.
Because this is really an insecurity issue for me.
I showed someone my foot when I was about 7 years old and she laughed so hard, and that is what made me so ashamed in the beginning because I was fine before that, but ofcourse, I was young.
Now I am older, and it is just embarrassing.
Can you help me?

If I may be permitted a guess without seeing your foot, you probably have a congenital deformity (which by the way is not that rare) called brachymetatarsia. This means a short metatarsal which in turn causes a short toe. Usually this is the 4th metatarsal and toe, although it can probably occur in any. This is one link I found doing a Google search for brachymetatarsia. There are others too. Not every doctor does this surgery so if you decide that is the route you want to take, ask before you schedule an appointment.podiatrychannel/brachymetatarsia/
