DeQuervian’s Tendonitis

I am a 39 year old female. Last year while working, ( I am a cook) I noticed pain in my right wrist and thumb. Recently, I was diagnosed with DeQuervian’s Tendonitis. Treatment was a half-cast, but of course, with my job, almost impossible to work with. I then went in for cortizone. It has been 3 days since the injection, and the pain persists. Why does it take so long for the cortizone to take effect? If this does not help, what are my options?

Joy, I am a personal trainer and have a client that has DeQuervian’s Tendonitis. What advice on exercises, that are helpful and exercises that would aggrevate this condition, do you have? She likes to train hard and I want to strengthen and not make this condition worse for her. I have an idea on some things but would really like your professional input. Thank you
