Distal bicep tendon surgery

I tore my distal tendon playing pickup basketball, I am scheduled to have surgery, one week after surgery my family and I are supposed to leave for a Florida vacation ( we are driving) Is this something that will be out of the question? Also what is the recovery time for this type of surgery, I am a self employed truck driver, and cannot afford to be out of work too long.

I TORE MY DISTAL TENDON RIGHT OFF THE BONE, I HAD SURGERY 5 WEEKS AGO, TO FULLY REPAIR THE INJURY, I HAVE BEEN IN A CAST BUT NOW I AM IN ASPLINT, AND I AM STARTING PHYSIO THIS WEEK, AND ALSO SOME LIGHT EXERCISE. I AM A PLAY RUGBY AND I HOPE TO BE FULLY RECOVERED IN FIVE MONTHS AS IF NOTHING HAD EVER HAPPENED. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE OR WORK, AND I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DRIVE OR WORK FOR ANOTHER FOUR WEEKS.

Good morning,
I am a female of 39. 7 years ago, while installing drywall on the ceiling, I hurt my shoulder. After consulting with doctors for the past 2 years and Xrays and MRI, the doctor concluded that I needed surgery for the right shoulder rotator cuff. This was performed last April 7. While at a follow up appointment with the specialist on November 18, I told him that I was still in lots of pain and still cannot sleep on the right side, etc. Did physio and all that stuff for 3 months as well. I explained to him that where the surgery was performed, that’s not where it hurts, it was about 1 to 2 inches lower in front and between the arm and shoulder bones.He explained to me the procedure he was gonna do and try to find the exact problem. He froze the bicep tendon and I was able to move the arm without any pain at all. Finally. He concluded that this was the problem and sometimes it doesn’t always show on the Xrays or MRI.I need to know if I’m doing the right thing by having another surgery to repair the tendon (which is scheduled for January 28). We did try physio on and off for the past 6 years with no results of getting better. Second question, how long is the recuperation period?
