distal biceps tendon rupture

Help, I just had my second biceps tendon rupture. the first was in Oct to my left arm while watersking. the second was to my right arm during a powerlifting meet.
Why?
I am a in good health 37 year old male.
I am 5’10”, 235 lbs and approx 13-16% bodyfat. Also, do you know the latest on post op for this surgary.
My doc has me in a cast for 4 weeks then a brace for 2 months.
Thanks, Don

Just a theory Don. Oct is less than a year ago. Yet you had already rehabed one rupture, trained for a powerlifting meet, and reinjured. In my case I am just able to start light resistance training 3 months postop. I am 54 years old, but I have benched 400 lbs. when I was 46. Mayo does their strength training one year post op to get a definitive finding on post op strength. Have you ever had any problems with tendinitis in the elbow region. Periods of inflammation weaken the connection of the tendon to the bone and make it more susceptible to rupture. Best wishes on your recovery….Greg
