dx. foot/toe deformity

My fiancee’s mother has a deformed toe on her left foot. The fourth toe, next to the pinky toe, is grown out of the top of the foot rather than aligned with the rest of the toes. For descriptives sake, compare it to the left ring finger growing out of the knuckle area of the hand rather than in line with the other 4 fingers. Is there a diagnosis for this and is it genetic-if he and I have children, is this something I should be concerned about?
Please help as searching the internet is futile.

hmm… has the same problem, its my left foot and the deformed fourth toe come out of the top of the foot. It`s exaktly that u describe, I must contact the doctor. I have a bit pain and sometimes hard to walk. Is there a diagnosis for this? please helpthanx

I know it’s been awhile since you posted this. But if you could, what did the doctor say about what you have? I have the same thing and would like an idea of what it is and what to do about it. Thanks.
