Elbow tendonitis

(3 discussions)

I have tendonitis in the elbow area. It was caused by doing barbell excercises for the posterior tricep.
The exercise specifies the person to lay flat on a bench and move the barbell with both hands over your head and towards the front.
I have stopped the exercise but I still have pain when the tricep is used indirectly. Can the tendon break? If so, How great is the possibility?

: Can the tendon break?: If so, How great is the possibility? I have a similar injury, I got mine doing a one handed pushup. Will the injury heal completely healthy on its own, given rest, time, and rehab? My ortho surgeon says it will, what’s you’re opinion and experience? Thank you

Thank you:::I have the same problem, but for me it came on gradually over time. Every time I do an exercise that directly or indirectly works the triceps I feel a slight burning sensation on the outside of my elbow, right where the tendon connects. I have tried laying off the weights several times, even taking as much as a month off, but the problem always returns. What should I do?
