foot surgery

My podiatrist advises surgery to correct bunions on both feet.
I had this operacion done years ago, but they came back.
The way they did before seems simple compared with the way proposed now by the surgeon, which is breaking the bone on each foot in two locations.
Isn’t this a lil extreme, or is it something currently done to correct bunions.

I recommend you get an MRI of your ankle. This will show a great deal more than just an X ray. I am not a huge fan of just giving pain pills for a problem.
