Foot Swelling and Soreness

Hi,
My grandmother has been having some problems with her feet swelling and being so sore that she can barely wear shoes. What do you suggest she should get so that her feet will be barable and she can wear shoes ???

She needs to be thoroughly evaluated by her primary care doctor for the possibility of any medical conditions that might cause swelling. This would include, but not be limited to heart disease, kidney disease, thyroid disease, peripheral vascular diseas, diabetes etc. The reason for swelling must be determined.
