Fractured fibula/lateral malleolus
I fractured my ankle about 7-8 weeks ago. I did not need surgery and was placed in a fiber glass which was just taken off a week ago. I need physical therapy now and have learned many of the exercises myself and have been doing them at home. I can put some weight on my foot and I use a cane to walk, but after a while on my feet, my foot swells. My medical insurance does not pay for PT, and I do not have the means to pay for it myself. Is it possible that by doing the exercises at home, such as the alphabet, ROM, and stretches, that I can walk without using a cane or crutches in another week? I need to return to my job, I am a waitress so this requires me to stand. I have already taken off almost 2 months I would like to hear from people with experience if it would be possibly for me to start putting full weight, without using a cane, in another week?

On 26th May 2017,I fractured my right fibula and there is a mild displacement. Surgery has been performed on 31st. May . Metal plate and screws have been fixed in there permanently. How long does it take to put weight on the operated leg?What type of physio therapy will I have to undergo. Could you please indicate some exercises that I could start doing in bed before I put weight on the operated leg. Thanks. Jhavery from Bombay. India

I fractured my fibula 6 weeks ago, was in a kneeimobilizer for 4 weeks, I cannot afford to go to physical therapy so I am seeking to do it on my own. If there are any diagrams I can followI would greatly appreciate them. Thanksleslie

Hi! I am having pain in the right side of my right foot. It is constant, even when I am sitting, sleeping & walking. Can there be a broken bone, a bone spur and any suggestions on relief? I have no insurance, apprecaite any assistance. Sincerely, Orlene

MY DOC PUT ME IN A AIRCAST !HE ALSO SAID (YOU DID A NUMBER ON THAT)NOT SURE WHAT HE MEANT BY THAT? I ASKED HIM IF I HAVE TO HAVE SURGERY JJUST WONDERED WHAT THE CHANCES WERE ON THAT ALSO!
