fractured patella

I fell and broke my patella 3 weeks ago. I have been in an immobilizer but I notice that my knee is still alittle swollen. Is this normal? My doctor said that it was aligned so he didn’t see surgery but I’m wonder what the normal timeline is on being able to have full use of it again? Any info would be appreciated. Thank you,Kimberly

Yes it’s normal. Keep using ice to control the swelling. If all goes well you should have functional mobility. Maybe you can go see a PT when the doc says it’s ok.

I fell walking and fractured my patelle. I am in a knee immobilizer for 8 weeks.Will I have trouble moving my knee after this time and how long do you think I will have to have rehab. My knee is in locked full extension at this time
