I had 5 fractures to my tibia, just below the knee. The doc waited 3 days for surgery because he was worried about tissue dammage (not swelling). I had surgery 3 days following the break, but my leg was so swollen leg couldn’t “close”. 3 days after surgery they put my under again & “closed” the insision.
