When I was in the 7th grade is when I was first told I had Freibergs disease, the doctor told me it was ver rare… and said that there were 3 options… 1 wear special shoes with a pad for my metatarcle head to rest on… 2 wear a cast to see if keeping presure off my foot would cause the bone to regrow… and 3 surgery…. well needless to say we tried 1 and 2… I probaly had the pain in my foot for about 2 years and it slowly subsided till it was no longer there… so I thought I was healed… well just recently nearly 6 1/2 years later the pain is back and worse than ever… my foot is swollen but only near wear my second and third toes are… I went to the doctor yesterday and I’m waiting for them to get me an appointment with the orthapedic doctors… I fear that the only resort is surgery….

i was told that I had the freibergs disease in 2012 after 3 years of wait to find out what the problem was. I only had a few options 1 to have an insole placed in my shoe to see if taking presure of the arch of my feet would stop the pain, leave it and the pain would hopeful go away or have surgery. Well as I had been waiting 2 years for 3years I had not growth out of it. I tried insoles and they did not work. In 2013 I had sugery to have a joint replacement for my toe. I can say that when you have surgery you thing that thats it no more pain but thwat is not the case. Everytime I knock my foot or toe it causes alot of pain. What I would say is think very carefully what you want to do. Is the pain that serve for you to have the surgery can you live without having it. I am sorry if I have put tomany douts in your head but you do need to know the facts
