Groin Injury

(3 discussions)

Hello, I am a female hockey player who has had a groin injury since August 2014 to now, March 2015. Because I was in season and was seriously needed by my team, I was never able to stay completely off my skates to allow the inury to heal.
I have not been skating for quite some time now, but am still feeling the injury when ever I am moving.
It is not a sharp pain, just a persistant soreness/strain feeling.
It was believed the I injured it by overuse.Anyhow, I have been recieving the typical athletic treatment of icing and resting, but nothing seems to be working. Can a groin injury be treated by surgery?
What other methods might be used to treat my injury? Thanks for your help.

Hi, I think I have strained my groin or inner thigh while running. I can’t exactly pinpoint where the pain is but feels like its in my groin and sometimes my inner thigh. As much as I dread the thought of not running, I think I need to listen to my body. What is the best course of treatment to get back to my regular training? I’d really appreciate your input. Thanks, Evelyn

After lifting a heavy object 10 days ago, I pulled my ligament groin muscle. I’m 52 years young and am in extreme pain. Everyone I talked to says RICE. I start PT tomorrow. Please help.

Hi I’m a male little league baseball baseball player. One game I forgot to wear a cup. When I stepped up to bat the pitcher had like a “rubber arm” and when he threw the ball it NAILED me right in the balls. It hurt like hell. I haven’t played baseball since.
