Heel Pain

Hi Dr. Vivian AbramsI have had Heel Pain for about 6 months. It won’t stop hurting. I have a job where I sit alot. I do get up and down through out the day. On weekends when I’m on my feel alot more it really hurts. This morning when I got out of bed I could hardley walk. I went to dr. they did a xray there was nothing that showed up.
I bought a Tony Little Gissele around summer time. I remember getting on it one day with thongs on, I stayed on it about half an hour. I remember when I got off my heel really hurt. This is the same pain. I got on the treadmill the other day for 25 minutes and it really hurt. Started going numb. Could you please advise me what to do. I don’t want to damage more. But, i would like to excercise. The pain gets reall bad almost like a throbbing burning pain.
Thank you for any advice you might have to give me.
Terri

  1. From what you are describing, it sounds like Plantar Fasciitis. Just because nothing showed up on the x-ray does not mean this is not there. Podiatrists see this problem all the time. There are many types of treatment, both conservative and surgical. The first thing to do is make an appointment with a podiatrist and go from there.
