Heel Pain & white lumps
(2 discussions)
Hi I have flat feet ~(fallen arches) since I was a child. I have in latter years (I am now 32) felt pain in the backs of my legs and the heels of my feet. one day I happened to be standing in my bare feet and had put pressure on my heels. I noticed quite a number of white soft lumps appear underneath my skin on the heels of my feet. Are these dangerous? Should I get them looked at? What causes them?

If these appear when you are weight bearing, they are probably what we call piezogenic papules. This is a herniation of the fat pad in the heel. They are not usually a problem, but if you are concerned, you should have it checked out.
