Hyperextended Knee

I hyperextended my right knee while on an extension ladder cleaning gutters on my house.
I have had three sessions with a chiropractor which has given some relief but am away from that facility for a time and need some rehab guidance.
To date, I have received no recommended exercises and no recommendation regarding wearing of a knee brace or of what type.Any assistance will be appreciated.

  1. My dogs hit my lower leg, creating a strain in my muscle above the knee and what appears to be a hyperextnded knee. I have not seen a doctor but have been icing the knee and soaking it in a whirlpool. Up until yesterday it was very painful. Today there is no pain or weakness. I am not sure whether i need medical care or i should just continue to take tylenol, rub in icy hot and soak it. Any advice?
