I go through shoes FAST

(2 discussions)

My shoe soles wear very quickly on the rear outside, and then my feet force the upper over the outer side of the sole…can you recommend anything to fix this? SJC

An custom orthotic posted correctly may help. This is different than an over the counter pre-fabricated arch support. If you go see a podiatrist, you will get more information about this.

I am an experienced marathon runner and am a “hard striker” (meaning I strike the ground with a lot of force—even though I am thin. Orthodics can really help to increase the life of your shoes—and also your ability to be comfortable on your feet. I am a student and am not wealthy—so the thought of paing for custom orthodics seemed expensive. However, it was one my best investements ever. Also, your shoes will wear better if you loose weight. I notice a difference when I loose even a few pounds.
