ok so at softball season last year I tore my legament in my left ankle the orthapdic said that I would have to have surgery in order to heal I need to know how long it takes to recover and what all goes into the surgery!!!

let me start by saying that my right foot and left knee swell up once in a while probably a several times a year it started two months ago before thanksgiving my foot swelled up I can barely walk on it well then I lost my balance and hurt my knee it swelled for a month I was on the couch I thought it was heeling but then it sweeled up again do I need a doctor

Two years back I have got my left ankle twist while I play foot ball,the orthapdic doctor said it will be ok slowly, but still I have paining. Please help
