I Want To Walk Again!
On 10/24/02 I had an operation on my right foot to correct a tendon problem. I can’t tell you the medical terms for the surgery. He made 2 incissions, one on the outside of my foot to insert a bone wedge to lengthen that side of my foot and then an incission on the inside of my foot to fuse 3 bones and create an arch using a plate and screws.On 11/05/02 I lost my balance and fell on my foot, causing a slight change in the alignment. my Dr felt that it would still heal OK. But, after continued non weight bearing and physical therapy I continued to have significant pain at 12 weeks after surgery. It was determined that one of the fusions was not taking and my Dr recommended that I have an additional surgery to add bone to that joint to force it to fuse.On 12/23/02 I underwent the recommended surgery. Now at 6 weeks after that surgery I am still having the same pain as before. I am using a bone stimulator to aid in the healing.
I can tell that my Dr isn’t happy with my progress and I’m getting frustrated. I just want to walk again. Any info you could give me would greatly help.
