is jawache part of whiplash

hi, I had a car crash a week ago and gained severe whiplash from it, my jaw has also started really aching, is this anything to do with the whiplash?thanks laura

whiplash can definitely cause referral pain into the jaw via the cervical sympathetic chain. Very common.

It may not be due strictly to the whiplash but could easily be related to the accident. Your jaw could have thrusted forward during the accident and some of the ligaments and tendons could have been stretched as well. Your DC should have no problem finding both the cause as well as an appropriate treatment for the condition.
