I use ASO ankle braces in my practice, as do several of my orthopedic colleagues. I find it better than tape in a sense that it is adjustable, washable, repeatable by the patient. I am not a fan of teh stirrup type braces or active ankle type braces because I feel they allow too much frontal plane motion (inversion and eversion of the ankle)
