Is this Fasciitis?

(2 discussions)

My symptoms: Pain in arch near heel when standing for more than 10 minutesPain in tendon that connects to the first metatarsal head when walking for more than 10 minutes (right foot)No morning pain, but a little discomfort when stepping out of bedWhen I press on fascia when my feet hurt, it hurtsI have been to a podiatrst, she fitted me with orthodics which help some, but still have problems. She says I have fasciitis and sesamottis (spelling?).
Icing helps a lot, but doesn’t that just cover up the symptom? Plus after 30minutes of icing, pain returns.
What is this? This has been going on for a year! btw, My podiatrist says I can still exercise which I do, however I don’t go as hard as I use to.

Are your orthotics custom made or pre-fabs?Do you wear them all the time or some times? You might try icing using a frozen water bottle and rolling it under your arch for 10 minutes 3 times a day. When you are done just refreeze it. Very effective and inexpensive. I would either do a diagnostic ultrasound or MRI on your foot to see the extent of the problem.
