Knee pain

(3 discussions)

Dear Physical therapist, I am writing because I have had knee pain since last year during basketball season. It is a sharp pain on the outside of my knee, right below to the left of my knee. It hurts after excercise (ex. basketball or volleyball practice). I am in volleyball and basketball. It pops every once in a while. Our athletic trainer at my school says it is a cartilage problem and once my pain gets so intense that I can’t stand it anymore then I will see a knee specialist. What do you think I have? Will I have to get surgery? well write me back as soon as possibleThank you for your time.

i have never been to the website before but I have had a pain right below my right knee and it’s a pulling feeling up toward my knee and very painful and it is sometimes causes a pain at the same time above my knee what do you think I did I haven’t done any sports this year and I was just standing and all of a sudden it started to hurt I wear a knee brace just a cheap $10 one from walmart but I only wear it when it hurts because of the pulling feeling and at school I wear it most of the time I haven’t been to a doctor because if its nothing I didn’t want to worry about it let me know what you think thank you very much
