Lateral Miniscus

An MRI revealed that I have a “Radial tear of the Anterior Horn of the lateral miniscus. I have no idea what that is or what I should do about it.Should I cease from all physical activity? I am a hockey player but the season just ended so shouldI have surgery or don’t I need it?Any other info or links to info would be appreciated.

I have a tear as well, my doctor said to imagine a bowl of thin jello, then someone takes a thick knife and cuts thin slices out of it about half way down. I’ve been walking around on mine for about 3 months, as it wasn’t that bad, and just ended up making it worse. And it will heal, given time and rest. I didn’t do this, however, and the next step is surgery. So my advice is to take it completely easy for a while, or you’ll end up making it worse. Hockey? Let it go for a couple of months, you don’t want to end up crippled.
