    I believe it is due to your blood circulation getting faster and harder to ensure blood flow to the working muscles, and your heart too of course. It happens to me too.

    How soon does it happen? With some it’s irritation due to shaving (probably doesn’t apply here); some it’s due to the body cooling from sweat and thus itchy hives from the cold (happens on my belly); some due to a reaction to the sweat – happens to my forehead sometimes – I’ll get a spot that reacts just like when I get a mosquito bite – a huge welt breaks out. O the other hand, I’m a very allergic guy, and when I react to sometime, my body goes ape anyway.If it’s a reaction to sweat, try some lotion before hand. If it’s a histamine reaction, maybe an anti-histamine would control it, but I’d personally not do that. I’d switch to skating instead! As far as your blood circulation goes, your legs are acting like a second heart, helping pump blood throughout your body. I have no clue as to how that would make you itchy, but then again, why should sweat?
