Legs/Arms Numbness

(8 discussions)

I have a similar numbness as Jeff (posted on Aug 15). I get numbness when I play tennis. Like Jeff, this used to go away within a few hours or days after playing tennis. But recently, it seems to have lasted over 2 weeks. What could be wrong? Any remedies? I am 54 years old.

I seem to have the same problem… It has lasted more than a month.

I am experiencing a sensation of numbness in my right arm which radiates from my arm to my hand and fingers. This happens in the last 3-4 weeks. Any suggestion?

I will give you a solution because I have developed a similar problem (with numbness). If I get a lot of flak, I will know why. What I’m going to say here is the truth, and sometimes the truth hurts. Most surgeries are unnecessary; they help no one, except the surgeon(s). Chances are your surgery, too, was unnecessary. When we go to doctors we expect too much of them. Too many folks go to doctors to get all answers, yet A) doctors are not teachers; B) they do not teach anything; C) training of medical doctors is grossly inadequate; and D) the licensees are rarely better than the licensors. Doctors are little or no help. I began to understand this when I learned about one group of organs (e.g. the thyroid system), consulted a bunch of “trained and licensed” medical doctors and began to notice how little they knew about my subject. Their primary goal was to say things that were politically correct. Their secondary goal was to intimidate me with their procedures, aggressiveness, and hundreds of questions. As to transfer of knowledge and diagnosis, I noticed how little they knew about my subject; 95% of doctors were no help. The remaining 5% only doctored, not healed. Only treated, not healed. They were only distant strangers, not friends who knew me well. I believe your best help is you yourself. Why? A) because you know yourself best, and B) because you know your own history the best, and C) because no one has a greater interest in your own problem than you yourself. Do your own research. Learn as much as you can. Make it your goal to know 10 times more on your subject than the very best “trained and licensed” medical doctor. Do not limit your problem is “CTS”; there’s nothing sacred about a diagnosis, i.e. opinion. Get a second (and third and fourth) opinion. Question the questioners and intimidate the intimidators. Most importantly, remember, you have a brain of your own! Use it! You cannot be lazy! Work on your problem, research it, and the answer will come to you sooner than you think. >

I am so fed up with hearing that other people are having issues with numbness in their arms or legs (just as me), and yet there seems to be no answers anywhere as to how we can allieviate this problem! I was diagnosed with carpel tunnel in both of my wrists (after having serious numbness in my arm and hand), only had surgery on the right hand which was worse and yet the problem still persists… in fact IT IS WORSE THAN THE HAND I DID NOT EVEN HAVE THE SURGERY ON!!! I have been to chiropracters and massage therapists and no one has the same answer to what the problem is or how to alleviate this. It is very frustrating especially at night when I cannot sleep! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!

My wife had this problem, she went to someone who is into the martial arts and is experienced in accupressure. Diagnose was carpal tunnel, problem was solved with accupressure. Joe
