lower ab strain and spreading

(2 discussions)

I have had a lower ab strain for about 2 months.
It does not seem to have improved, and has actually caused other problems. First, I pulled my left groin, and shortly after that healed, my right groin. Now my right hamstring seems to have a slight pull.
Is it possible that the ab strain could have caused all of this?
If so, how long does a strain of this sort take to heal?

I’m 38, 6′ 1″ 175 lbs. and have had groin problems off and on for the past three years. Currently, I am trying to heal a bilateral groin/lower ab strain through aquatic therapy, light exercise on land, and diet. A previous strain I had on the right side took almost 4 months to heal. I know a guy who said it took 3 years for his groin pull to heal. I’ve noticed that when one side goes, it takes the other side with it because I tend to favor the “good” side, which puts more strain on it. Now that both are strained I try not to favor any one side. I often wish that I could just have a hernia, have it operated on, and be done with all this crap, but docs have ruled out hernia so far. It will spread. For me, it has affected my hips and lower back at times. Everything in your body is connected, so when one part goes it tends to take others with it especially as you get over 35. Good Luck.

I bumped into ur problem while searching for mine. One day I developed a feeling in my lower abs that felt like I had to golf balls shoved in my lower abs. I guess it is a tightness feeling, so to say. I went to the Dr and he told me it was an abdominal strain and told me to rest. He told me when it gets better, I can do ab workouts to rebuild. I was on my back in bed for two weeks. It was just too unconfortable to sit up. 2weeks later I got better but the feeling is just weaker than it used to be. Heavy lifting makes it act up. I developed this 5 yrs ago. 2 yrs ago a sergeon said that he beleives I have a small hernia. I never went back to him. I don’t know what my problem is. I just know coughing is bad for it, lifting is bad for it, energistic sensored is bad for it, yelling is bad for it, and any other ab muscle straining. I basically can’t use my ab muscles. It is hard to try not to use ur abs for anything. I have no sensoreding clue as to what is my problem. I know that I can feel a lump on my pelvis that is the size of a tiny wild berry. I don’t know if it is a tight muscle fiber, a big vein, a hernia portion, or what ever. I need as much help and explanation as you do.
