Lower back pain

Ok I don’t know how good I will be at explaining this but I have lower back pain for the past year. When I run I get shooting pain through my back and in my legs all the way down to my feet. It hurts to keep my back straight, most of the time I have to sit slumped over. I have been to the doctor about this but the only solution they could give me was a major surgury consisting of breaking my spine and remolding it. Now to the medical stuff that I don’t understand. There is 42 degrees of thoracic hyphosis present. There is 10 degrees of curvature of the lower thoracic spine convext to the left. There is partial sacralization of L5. There is 75 degrees of lumbar lordosis present. The lumbar spine also tilts slightly to the left measuring 6 degrees from the superior end plate of T12 to the inferior end plate of L3. I have no idea what all of that means but I do know that the doctors have told me that if I make a false move I could break my spine. Any chance that you could give me some ideas on a pain free lifestyle?

Hi Meghann. I believe you need to seek a second opinion,it sounds to me like Scoliosis with other problems. I must say the operation dose not sound right regarding breaking your spine and remolding it.Please do not go ahead with surgery until you seek another opinion and fully understand the Procedure. If there is something you don’t understand when the doctor is explaining it, make sure YOU ASK UNTIL YOU DO UNDERSTAND IT. Good Luck
