lower back pain

i work in a stock room at a department store. it requires regular heavy lifting, and a lot of bending and twisting. I’ve always wore a back brace, but about a month after working there, my lower back started to hurt. I eased up on the heavy lifting and it didn’t seem to do any good. I’ve worked there for 4 months now, and every now and then my legs go numb. every morning, my husband has to help me get out of bed so I can go to work. sometimes I have to call into work because I can’t even walk. icing it does not help, and ibuprofen does not help. also last night when my husband was massaging my back, he pressed on my lower back on the left side and there is a popping every time he does it. its not excruciating, but it does worry me… I’m only 22!! its only on the left side, not the right. but just sitting here hurts. I pretty much know what caused it, but what could this be and does it sound permanent? thank you so much!

Go to the Chiropractor and have some x-rays done. It is possible you have a spondylolisthesis. Hard to tell without an exam and work up. Could be something else. Sounds mechanical but no way to tell just talking to over a forum.
