lump in lower back

I have a lump in my lower left side of my back I can feel it it is soft and I can move it around.
I went to the doctor and had an MRI and they said they found nothing they thought it might be a bone and to go to physical therapy. does that sound right?? should I see another doctor?

what?i have exactly the same thing too… it doesn’t hurt and it doesnt bother me at all.. but i’m still worried. I don’t know what it is. any info anyone?

It sounds as though I have the same thing. I’ve been trying to find some info about it before I go to the doctor. Would love to know more … could it just be a swollen gland?

Hello,Wow, I just did a quick search on the web cuz I’m worried about a lump on my back. It started this January as hard bump about the size of a pin head and now it’s as big as a pea. I can’t say mine is soft…it’s quite hard, but it doesn’t hurt. I’m just afraid that it might be cancer…????Any comments would be appreciated!Thanks,Jennifer

I have the same thing. It developed last year. I noticed it when I was driving in the car,whenever I push back on the seat it hurts. I had an MRI that showed nothing but if I arch my back you can definetly see that there is something there. Two doctors said that they thought is MIGHT be because I’m thin and they see this condition in thin children. Like it’s because I don’t have enough fat to shield my spine so it’s susseptible to being bumped and bothered. I’m afraid to accept their diagnosis because it’s getting bigger. Has anyone figured this out yet. Should I see another doctor?

I have a lump in my lower left side but it sometimes hurt if someone pushes on it. I also have a small disc problem

I also have a lump in my lower back on right side. I found it about 2 months ago. I have shown it to a pathologist, a gynacologist, an orthapaedic and a physiotherapist. The orthapedic told me to get an x-ray, which showed nothing. All of them have said it is a lipoma – I’m not convinced, especially as it seems to now be causing me problems – backache, leg pain etc. The physiotherapist said maybe we can try to diminish it with massage. I am also not convinced its not cancer, but they all seem to think I’m mad! I live in Greece. Does anyone have any answers/suggestions?

I have a soft lump as well. I kind of thought it might be connected to the lymphatic system. I used to have one on each side, but the one on the right went away after a couple years. The one on the lefft fluctuates in size. When it gets larger it gets tender. It is larger than ever currently and I’m having leg pain. not sure if it’s realted.

I have the exact same thing, lump on my lower left side that was smaller now is larger and is tender. The one on my right side was small but now is gone. I also have a problem with my left knee, I ran a marathon which I was not prepared for and I know I need physical therapy on that knee. What is this lump?

: I HAVE THE SAMETHING AND IT HURTS LIKE CRAZY. SOMETIMES I CAN’T WALK SIT OR STAND GOOD AT ALL. MINE IS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF MY SPINE RIGHT ABOVE THE HIP VERY SOFT AND IT MOVES AROUND. I GOT A MRI AND THEY SEEN NOTHING. I AM GOING TO ANOTHER DOC THATS KNOWS MORE THEN THIS ONE.

I’m very interested in information on the very same thing everyone is commenting on. I have a soft moveable lump about the size of a walnut on the lower right side of my back also above my hip bone I do have lower back pain and recently started jogging as well. Is there a connection jogging and this lump. I also had a baby 15 months ago via c-section. any help?

I have the same thing. Lower left side. It has been there for a couple of years but it didn’t bother me at all. Now it is bigger and very sore. If anyone has found out anything please let me know

I have been having pain in my lower back on and of for the last few months and down my left leg. Last night I found a lump on my back which moves around feels a bit tough. Sore when pressing or moving. Anybody any idea. It’s worrying. Made an appointment for doctors!

i have like 4 lumps in my lower back 2 on each side of my spine if I push on them they make me dizzy and then hurt I dunno what they are but I would like to I hav enot went to the doctor due to no insurance I’m a 26 year old student and cannot get out to find out what is going on

A while ago this lump started to grow on my back and it’s grown quite larger than it’s usual size, and so has it’s color it’s kind a yellowishy. Now I’m starting to feel pain around the lump and I sometimes feel short of breath. I don’t if I should be worried. I was planning on going to the doctors but always put it, because I was scared of what I might find & now I’m scared that I’ve it off for such a long time I think that if I do have cancer it might advanced into other areas & I don’t even know it. But should I be worried? And should I go and see a doctor and not put it off this time?

I recently had a lump appear as well. You know those dimples you have in the small of your back? Mine is on my right dimple. It hurts even when I’m not doing anything. There’s no particular thing that makes it hurt. But it’s actually hard and feels like it’s on my bone. It has a sharp pain that lasts about 10 seconds. I lift weighs and play tennis… I’m wondering if that has something to do with it. But I have no idea what it could be.
