Lump on the palm of hand

I have a hard lump on the palm of my hand, which is located approximately one inch below the ring finger of my right hand. It appears to move up and down, with no pain associated, when I move my finger. Is this serious, or will it dissipate.

HelloI have a lump on my right hand about one half inchbelow the split between my forefinger and the adjacent finger. It’s the size of a large peaand it’s soft and it happened over a few days. It does hot hurt at this time. Any help would beappreciated. Thank you. Bill Bowen
