Lump on top of foot

(3 discussions)

My husband has a lump about the size of a ping pong ball on the top of his foot.
There is no pain associated with it.
It is hard and does not move.
Any idea of what it may be?

I have a lump top on top of foot above arch (possibly at the site of the Navicular. It is terribly painful with each step taken. Periodicallly it becomes inflamed and walking is out of the question. It has been diagoned as a cyst, ganglain and spur. Advil has been suggested as pain relief. What is the cure?

Without examining his foot I can not be certain. 2 things that we see quite commonly on this area are either a ganglion cyst or a bone spur. I recommend you see a podiatrist for further evaluation.

My husband has the same thing. His isn’t as large as a ping pong ball but it sticks out. He keeps saying he’ll go have it checked out, but never does. I’ve seen pictures of a ganglion cyst on a foot and it is just like looking at his foot. Please post back with any info you get on it.
