Mallet finger

What physical therapy can I give my self for a mallet finger.
It has been in a plastic cast for 1 1/2 months.
Went to the Orthopedic Dr. today and he said I could take it off 3-4x a day and work on making a fist and to set up physical therapy.
We are going on vacation for 2 weeks.
What can I do in the meantime. The injury is from softball.
