mcl tear (knee)-

(3 discussions)

4 weeks since injury. possible mcl tear md evaluationwould like some home excercises to get back to full strength.
I can bear full weight on damaged knee but don’t have complete flexzation. squat now about half way, laying on stomach can flex knee a little, sitting in chair flex knee a little.
Should I try going past the severe tightness of inner knee everyday? I don’t have health ins. would really like some excercises to get back to normal. how long will this take?(injury was a latteral impact with buckling of inner knee with immediately swelling but never no bruising.)

i had been training for some long cycling tours and noticed some pain on the inside of my rt knee.esp when climbing big hills. I rested and iced for a few days and did my event, but I had pain the whole ride and the next day it was stiff and swollen. I am doing RICE and ibu. anything else?it has improved but one day the entire lower leg was swollen! this of xcourse, made me nervous so I am elevating. the swelling is mostly gone, occasionally in the ankle.pain has subsided, but I haven’t worked out for a week!

had a fall a week ago at a bowling ally,i slipped and both my legs went outwards to the side ,when I tried to stand the pain was hurendous, the next day when I got up my left leg on the inside of my left knee was very painfull,i cannot kneel on this knee or fully straighten it without alot of pain. I went to the hospital and they just said it was probably muscle damage its now been a week since I injured it and I’m still in alot of pain I had a crepe bandage on but its not doing much ,what should I do, I don’t know if it is a mcl tear but its very painfull. yours sincerely c d grimshaw.
