I am looking to find out more information about miniscust transplants for my Mom. We live in Warren Ohio and I am looking to find a facility that does the procedure as close to our area as possible since she is not willing to travel far. I would also appreciate any information on the procedure itself.

Have you had any answers? I live in Hawaii, and my husband needs a transplant, but I don’t know where anyone is doing them. Not in Hawaii. Do you have any doctors names, anywhere? Ohio is ok, or California, Nebraska, Massachusetts?

I’ve been told that both knees are bone on bone and that my only option is a new knee operation on each knee. I’m 82 and a miniscus transplant sounds less invasive. But, it is appropriate for the bone on bone condition? If so, who can I contact re having that done?Would very appreciate any info you might offer.Warren Hanna

My right miniscus is 100% gone, my left miniscus is 50% gone and my ACL is gone. I am waiting on a miniscus (it has to be matched in size to your knee). They’ve told me it will take about 3 months to get a cadaver miniscus and about 1 month to get on the dr’s schedule. It’s been about 2 months and 1 week so far and I haven’t heard anything yet. My Dr. is in Pittsburgh, PA. He is part of UPMC Sports Medicine group. His name is Dr. Christopher Harner. He works with Freddie Fu (doctor for the Steelers football team) and is supposed to be one of the best in the world. There are 5 doctors in the group that are supposed to be excellent. Let me know if you want more information as I have lots.
