MRI scan

I wrote a few months ago for advice on 5th metatarsal fracture and first of all want to thank you for advising I go to see another doctor (my first didn’t seem to care!). She referred me straight away to orthopaedic trauma and now i’m waiting for an MRI scan to see why it’s taking so long to heal (injured early august 2003). Just wondering what they will be able to see from the scan and what they’re looking for. Thanks again, hopefully i’ll be running around again soon!

The MRI will be helpfull to see both outside and inside the bone. If this has become a non-union, it will appear differently. The treatments can vary then. I think it is a good idea to get this information. Good luck.
