hi I was hoping you could help me my 14 year son fell down at school and hurt his foot it turns out he has the true jones fracture he has been in a cast for 6 weeks now it still did not heal the doctor said 2 more weeks but what I wanted to know it goes to see the doctor every 2 weeks and he takes the cast off and buts a new one on why does he do that heather

    But if he has been doing this for about weeks, he should probably have recommended surgery. I already 3 jones’ fractures this year, and finally had surgery on it. I would highly recommend it if no sign of healing

    Serial radiographs are indicated in a delayed healing fx. removing the cast allows for better imaging techniques since there are very subtle radiograph changes the doctor is looking for…this is one reason he may be doing this
