my ankle

last night I sprained my ankle on the dance floor. I wouldnt be so worried if I had sprained it the normal way, but my ankle turned the other way. My ankle turned towards the outsite and I heard a lous POP. I am still able to walk, but im in alot of pain. the top of my ankle is swollen and I don’t know how serious the injury is. if you can please help me with this problem, I would be most thankful. Thx

    I would first suggest an xray to rule out a fracture. Put ice on it until swelling or pain are gone. Gentle ankle circles/alphabet exercises can help with range of motion. Use crutches if too painfull to walk.
