Nagging pain behind my knee

(3 discussions)

I recently develped a pain in the back of my left knee, mostly feels like it’s inside or right down the middle of the L knee. This pain is mostly associated when the knee is being stretched out, ie. after sitting in a certain position for over 20 min or when trying to stretch out my quads before soccer games (by pulling back on my ankle). Since I developed this “out of the blue,” I would appreciate any light to be shed on this issue. Thanks in advance!

I have the same nagging pain behind my left knee. My doctor thought it was a bakers cyst, but after the ultrasound showed nothing. I was sent to an orthopedic doc and he said it is Hamstring Tendonitus. So, I agree, you should go get it checked out. Because you can have things done to get it fixed. I start physical therapy today. Go to the doctor, don’t let it go without being checked.

You should really go to a doctor…you may have whats called a bakers cyst. But it could be other things since you are so active.

: When I was 20 something my knee cap was dislocated by a kick at the knee. I was in a very bad pain. I went to the doctor and he told me that I had a birth defect in my knees. He said that my knee caps were not jointed and I would need sugery. I never went back to the doctor. Now I am 54 years and my knees are giving me problems. It feels like the knee caps wants to dislocate for any little movement I make. I can’t strech my knee because it feels like my knee caps is cracking, If I bump my knee to anything the joint wants to pop out. I can’t stand for a very long peroid either. What should I do?
