NEED ADVICE ON CHRONIC BICEP TENDONITUS!!!!!!!!!

(2 discussions)

I pulled my outer lower bicep area that goes into the joint were the forearm and bicep meet. I pulled it doing hammer curls. I tried to work thru my injury for several weeks instead of quitting It’s been 8 months and I still cannot do any form of bicep exercise. I had an MRI showing chronic tendonitus. My physical therapist said I ripped a muscle and my accupunturist sais it was all the above. Simply put I want to workout with weights again but cannot seem to get ovet this injury. It draws up on me at night and I use ice/moist heat during the day. I’ve tried multiple antiflammatories. What should I do to get this injury too heal??? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

Tendonitis can take a long time to get better. Is it bicep tendenitis or tennis elbow? In any case…rest is the best thing and very, very gradual return to activity. Didn’t your therapist help you at all??? Or are you resistant to what she/he has told you? Most of all DO NOT work through pain with this kind of thing and avoid positions/movements that cause pain. The moer pain you have the more you are aggrevating tissue and preventing healing. Good Luck.
