nerve pain/cyst in top of foot

(2 discussions)

I have been digonsed with having a cyst growing in the top of my foot.
Also I expeince a lot of tingle and pain in my foot.
On my first visit, the dr gave me a steriod shot in my foot.
4 days, I was in major pain.
Went back to the dr the following week, she put me in a soft cast to let the nerves in my foot rest.
I go back tomorrow and the nerve pain is still there.
It feels like, when you fit your funny bone in your elbow and it is really not all that funny.
That is the pain that I feel in my foot.
She is wanting to do a nerve block in my foot.
I am not real sure about that.
Could you help me to understand what is going on with my foot?
Thanks,Christi

I am not sure but you might have a ganglion (a type of cyst) that is common on the top of the foot as well as other parts of the body. You can do a Google search for ganglion and get alot more information. It may be pressing on the nerves causing the pain. As far as the treatment goes, you need to discuss your concerns with the doctor.

I have what sounds like to be the exact problem you have. The cyst seems to be connected to the joint on my big toe and the nerve pain is on the inside of my foot. My doctor has recommended removing the cyst, as it will continue to impinge the nerve. I haven’t had any steroid shots. Good luck with yours. I’m having mine removed in two weeks.
