neuroma

(2 discussions)

Hi there, I just had neuroma surgery one week ago, after one year of pain.
I am a tennis instructor.
The doctor told me he found the nerve attached at the bottom of the metatarsal bone.
Have you ever heard of that?
I am hoping for a good recovery and pain relief.
Too soon to tell now.
Thanks.

I have nevere heard of that? The interdigital nerve that becomes inflammed in a neuroma is just under the intermetatarsal ligament which attaches the metatarsals and prevents them from splaying. The interdigital nerve runs BETWEEN the metatarsal heads along the interspace. The nerve does not run UNDER the metatarsal bone. If this is true, you may have a nerve anomaly. Good luck on your recovery.Al Kline DPMpodassociatesFORUMwww.podassociates.proboards25/

I recently fractured my left ankle and tore the ligamens had reconstructive surgery in November and have had a hard time with pain. My foot constantly hurts it is still in a cam walker but my therapist has noticed a bump a little smaller than a dime on the arch of my foot. It hurts to touch it let alone rub it or walk on it. Do you know what this could be?
