Nonpainful blisters on feet

My husband have non painful blisters on the bottom of his feet. After he pops them it leave like a nasty looking sore. What could it be. It always appears on the side of his feet. It appears only on one foot.

    There is no way to give an answer without examining him and the blisters. Possibilities include, but are not limited to Diabetes, fungal infection, friction blisters, bullous pemphigoid (an auto immune disorder) I recommend he see a podiatrist or dermatologist.
