not swollen but sore to touch

I am a first baseman and during a play, I stepped on the base wrong. I felt and heard it pop and then it hurt. I can still run on my foot, but it is sore to the touch. Pressure on my foot, like from shoes, makes my foot hurt. Do you think it is broken? It has been 3 weeks and still hurts to push on the area. There is almost no swelling what so ever though.

  1. It is difficult to tell for sure without an examination. You could have a bone injury or a soft tissue injury. An x-ray is the first step, and if inconclusive, a MRI. You should have this checked out.
