Numbness severe on Top of foot towards the front

(3 discussions)

Hi,
I have severe numbness on the top (closer to my toes) of my left foot.
I do have a little on my right but not as bad.
It tingles & I have no feeling when I touch it.
I did wear a new pair of shoes yesterday that had a tight strap that went right over the top of my foot close to the ankle so when I got home, I had a bad mark and Very swollen feet.
I also have a knot about the size of a quarter on my right foot that hurts.
when you look at it, it looks like maybe a cyst in the vien closer to my smaller three toes.
It keeps getting bigger.
I’m really concerned more with the numbness as its not seeming to go away.
Thank you so much & I have loved your site.Debbie

Without an exam I can’t really be sure. It is possible that this is due to a nerve entrapment. There a re any number of reasons that you might have swelling in your feet. Have you had this examined yet?

Thank you so much for responding to me !! No I haven’t been seen yet but as I said, I’m concerned about the fact that I can’t feel anything on the top of the foot. Most of the swelling is gone but it has a slight discolor as opposed to the other one. Do you think this is cause for serious concern or that I should been seen asap? Or do you think I will be okay given a few more days. I am off work today and tomorrow so I can rest my feet. Thank you again!!

Without seeing your foot I can’t say for sure. To see is to know, not to see is to guess. If you go anywhere today, it would probably be the ER. The exam might or might not be comprehensive. I can’t tell you.Regardless, if you are concerned, then have your foot looked at, if you feel you can wait, then call someone Monday morning.
        Good luck.
