numbness, tingling in baby toe and along bottom half of right foot

(2 discussions)

hi I hope you can help me.
i am 41 years old, female, and in general good health.
yesterday I was walking around barefoot as per usual in my home doing nothing out of the ordinary when very slowly I noticed the onset of a tingling feeling in my baby toe and the 2 toes next to it and also along 1/2 of the bottom of my right foot near the baby toe.
this started slowly and then progressed to a numbness to the point where I can’t feel my toes or bottom of my foot even when walking.
when I touch my toes I feel a wooden feeling.
i can feel them being touched but as if only on the very surface, for instance, as if there were callouses touching each other.
there is a spongy feel to my foot when I walk and now today it feels as if that tingling feeling is spreading up my leg.
What could this be?please help ASAP as I have 2 small children to take care of and am finding this to be a hindrance to their care.

What you describe sounds like a nerve problem but I can’t determine why. There are several areas that would need to be tested to determine where the problem lies. There is little I can do for you. Go see a podiatrist.
