Orthotics

My podiatrist took a plaster cast impression of my feet for orthotics. After the first cast was removed he hung them on the door knob by the heel. The second cast was left on my foot for a longer period of time because the Dr. left the room. The nurse had to pry it off my foot. The cast that was hung on the door knob was very narrow as it came up around my heel, from hanging on the door knob. The cast that was pried off my foot was wider as it came up around my heel. This concerned me and the Dr. said it was ok. Should I be concerned with what seemed to be a half attempt at making an accurate casting of my feet. The Dr. seemed to be very busy running from one room to the next. I’m paying cash and they are not cheap. Your opinion would be appreciated. I have not received my orthotics yet.

The lab I use digitally scans the inside parameters of the cast. If the area in question is higher up on the foot, it may not matter. In any event, if your orthotic is not comfortable, I would suggest you discuss this concern with your doctor
