    OSD is caused by too much stress on the tendon that goes from the bottom of your knee cap/patella to your shin bone. Stretch your quads, the front thigh muscles, by grabing your foot behind your hip and pulling back. To strengthen your quads, lay on your back, bend the opposite knee and raise the hurt leg straight up and down. Do 3 sets of 20 reps. Also do 1/4 knee bends and standing calf raises. Ice is a great antiinflammatory. This condition will slowly go away as you grow and the muscles and bones catch up to each other.Hope this helps.

    my son was diagnosed as having this osgoodschlatters disease when he was 14 years old. He is now 23 years but gets pain in the knees whenever he exerts. Please advise whether we should go for athorough checkup.does the disease cause permanent damage to the knee?

    You can’t get rid of it you just have to stop doing sport for a few months
