osgood schlatters disease

Hi. My name is Jenn. I’m 16 and i’ve had osgood schlatters disease for about 6 years. I’m involved in basketball, soccer, volleyball, and maybe going to throw discus this spring. And I have actually limited my sport participation.
I know the routine of “RICE” but it doesn’t work. I’ve sat out from sports which I did not want to do. That didn’t help either. I’ve tried stretching and diffrent braces. Do you have any recomendations on how the swelling can go down or help with the pain besides getting a cast or besides taking pain pills? It’s okay if you don’t reply right away im sure other people are worse off then me but if you get the time I would appreciate it greatly.jenn
