outer edge foot pain

(2 discussions)

I get extreme pain located lengthwise 3/4 from my ankle and 1/4 from my little toe. And in about 1/2-3/4 inches. It seems to be located on the metatarsal bone but radiates inward to middle of foot. The pain gets so severe I have to curl up my toes tight for support and walk like that w/a limp. I thought I was getting fallen arches but now I am not so sure. I am a bartender working a long bar w/no mats or pads on floor. I also need to know of the best shoe for support-something a mailman might recommend. Thanks for your help and for a great service. I can be mailed directly also at [email protected]

A lace up hiking boot might be a start. The sturdier the better. However, I think you would be best served by seeing a podiatrist and discuss either custom orthotics or an AFO ( such as a Richie type brace).
